Air Products Benelux Recognized as Hydrogen Leader
In the port of Rotterdam, Air Products is building the Liquid Hydrogen Facility Rotterdam: a new plant that will enable the large-scale liquefaction of hydrogen. The facility is already in an advanced stage and is expected to become operational in 2027, making Rotterdam home to Europe’s largest liquid hydrogen plant.
The Liquid Hydrogen Facility adds a crucial new link to the existing hydrogen supply chain. From Rotterdam, liquid hydrogen will soon be made available for a wide range of existing and new applications and customers, both within and outside the Netherlands.
Air Products’ leadership is evident not only in the scale of the project, but especially in the timing of its investment and construction—while the European hydrogen market is still rapidly evolving. This demonstrates how ambition is being translated into action.
